Tuesday 21st February: The Odd Trio + Clowes/Messore Quartet

This week we play host to these two delightfully original bands that have us very excited indeed.

Both highly distinctive and well regarded band leaders in their own right, saxophonist Trish Clowes and guitarist Dan Messore have paired up to combine their personal approaches with their shared enthusiasm for beautiful melodic lyricism, swirling textures and contemporary sounds. Both have received rave reviews for their respective albums, details of which can be found on their websites.
Please check out Trish's website here, and Dan's here

They will be joined by two of the country's most in demand rhythm section players, Ross Stanley on Organ and James Maddren on Drums

Dan Messore plays great modern jazz guitar with some influences, but he's well on his way to finding his own voice as a guitarist and composer. He swings, has a warm sound and is in the moment as an improviser when he solos. His judicious use of space makes for a real conversational rapport with his bandmates." - John Stowell,  www.johnstowell.com
“She plays wonderful tenor saxophone with a lightness of tone reminiscent of the young Stan Getz and composes luminous music that inhabits that intriguing world at the ill-defined edges of jazz and contemporary classical music.”- Dave Gelly, The Observer
Also playing will be another new project featuring Trish, along with cellist Louise McMonagle and drummer James Maddren, the 'Odd Trio': This unusual line-up will be performing originals, the Beatles, Tango, Prokofiev and more.

REMEMBER!! Doors open at 8pm and entrance is only £3 before 8:30pm, and £5 thereafter. Music from 8:45/9pm. Food is still available at this time.
