TUESDAY 8TH MAY: DOUBLE BILL!! 'THOUSAND KINGS' & 'MUZZLE'

This week we are welcoming two excellent bands led by bassists Karl Rasheed-Abel and Colin Somervell respectively. Here is a preview of what to expect from them:

THOUSAND KINGS

Best known for his touring with highly acclaimed saxophonist/MC Soweto Kinch, Karl brings his wide variety of musical influences together in his most recent exciting original project. Expect improvised music with strong melodic and rhythmic launch pads, taking influences from Punk, Hip-Hop, Nigerian Bata and Fuji Music, Reggae, Folk, and Rock.

Check out some recent bootlegs of the band:

MUZZLE

Trio led by in-demand bassist Colin Somervell featuring MOBO award winning saxophonist Nathaniel Facey (Empirical - best jazz act) and Birmingham based drummer Jim Bashford. The group play original compositions with contributions from all band members. The bands musical styles range from complex rhythmic loops and patterns to subtle ballads.

Two bands, two very good reasons to be excited! We look forward to hearing them and seeing you.
