18th September - Same 4tet

After an incredibly enjoyable 1st year birthday bash last week, the SE Collective programme continues with Same 4tet...

Same 4-tet was formed in Helsinki in 2011 when Matt Carroll...  ...a drummer from Chicago,
...Adam Dyer  ...a pianist from the UK,
...met Finns Eero Seppa  ...a bassist,
...and saxophonist Sampo Kasurinen

The groove is propelled by drummer Matt Carroll, (Emmet Cohen trio) and supported by the hip-hop influenced bass lines of Eero Seppa and the inventive 'comping of Adam Dyer, whose playing has been described by Soren Norbo as ‘reminiscent of Django Bates’. Combined with the virtuosic skill of Sampo Kasurinen on saxophones, Same 4-tet span both the European and American jazz worlds, with melodic, funky and fresh sounding music.

We look forward to seeing you there!
