Kristian Borring Trio

Kristian Borring - Guitar
Mick Coady - Bass
Dave Hamblett - Drums

Danish born Kristian Borring, “A guitarist of enormous technical ability who utilizes his considerable gifts thoughtfully and tastefully”, (Ian Mann, The Jazz Mann) has built his name as a skillful guitarist with great melodic sense and sophisticated harmonic understanding, equally mastering the standard repertoire as well as original material.

Since arriving to London in 2005 Borring has proved his talent as a guitarist, working with many exciting musicians while focusing on developing his voice as composer and leader of his own projects. His debut album, Nausicaa, released on Milanese based label, Ultra Sound Records, received wide spread national acclaim with numerous great reviews, described by John Fordham (The Guardian) as a “hyper-cool and low-key approach to jazz guitar, but reprises it with warmth, confidence and a rhythmic hipness that's thoroughly contemporary”. Borring received also praise when displaying his compositional skills. “An assured and confident debut, demonstrating Borring's talents as a composer and player…impressive first release.” (All About Jazz)

Borring has worked and performed throughout the UK and Europe with a diverse range of groups and performers, including, Antonio Zambrini, Will Vinson, Tommaso Starace, Laurence Cottle, Archie Shepp, Lars Dietrich, Jim Hart, Gareth Lockrane and many others.

The Trio will be playing a mix of new originals and songs from the American songbook.
