After a splendid double-bill this week we are excited to be welcoming back an SECollective favourite to The Amersham next Tuesday; the wonderful Tom White Septet!
Formed in 2010 by trombonist Tom White (David Murray Big Band [USA], Tom White/Thomas Streutgers Quartet [UK/NL]), and featuring some of London’s top young musical talent, the Tom White Septet has performed regularly both in and around London, building up an ever-increasing fan base along the way. Drawing on a wide range of influences, it has been described as honest, captivating and dynamic music.
Making the most of the powerful four-horn front-line, rich colourful harmonies, strong melodies and a wide rhythmic pallet conspire to create Tom’s unique brand of thoroughly engaging, energetic, sonorous, and often epic jazz that is both highly contemporary and personal, but with frequent nods to the tradition.
We look forward to seeing you down at The Amersham next Tuesday for what will undoubtedly be a cracker! Music from 8.30 / £5 on-the-door…
